Tough Cutie

Brittany is a graduate of Duke University and holds an MS in Management from the Wake Forest University School of Business. She spent four years working as an IT business analyst for basic apparel companies in the North Carolina textile region. In her last role as the product manager for a start-up outdoor apparel brand, in the men's and women's sock category, she had complete P&L ownership and directed the end-to-end product, branding, and retailer strategy. After becoming disillusioned with the shrink it and pink it and male-centered approach to design in the outdoor industry, she founded Tough Cutie with the goal of designing products for women by women from head to toe. 

Our factory is WRAP certified, and we plan to invest in the Responsible Wool Standard Certification.

We plan to develop a wide calf option for our hiking socks in the future. We also plan to develop a lower silhouette, no show sock, that should be comfortable for a wide range of foot sizes and shapes regardless of calf size.
