Seirus is an outdoor essentials company making gear to protect your head, hands, feet and core. Our mission is to deliver the best products that enable every outdoor enthusiast to enjoy any cold weather activity in the greatest comfort possible. CEO Mike Carey, an avid winter sports enthusiast, wanted to create the same thing for others that he looked for himself: a business culture he values and an environment that provides a space which allows collaborative beings to flourish.
Seirus is innovating for a more inclusive and sustainable outdoors, filled with transformative experiences. All of this culminates with the development of innovative, high quality essentials that allow everyone to comfortably enjoy the outdoors.
Mike Carey launched his career in snowsports with the invention of Cat Tracks in 1979. In addition to co-founding Seirus, Carey has a proven record of being a leader within the outdoor and snowsports industry. Serving multiple terms on the board of SIA (Snowsports Industry of America) as well as SOS Outreach and Vail Veterans Program. Being a part of the community has always been a top priority for Mike.
Carey is a graduate of Santa Clara University, where as a student, he was a running back for the collegiate football team. Post graduate; Carey dedicated his career to being a NCAA/NFL referee. He rose to become the first African American to referee the Super Bowl in 2008 for the XLII game (New York Giants v New England Patriots). By the time Carey had moved away from a career in refereeing, he had completed 24 seasons and worked 17 postseason contests.
All of our outreach organizations have a focus on health, wellness and mentorship with outdoor adventure as the core of their programming and the catalyst for growth. These include, SOS Outreach, Vail Veterans Program, Big City Mountaineers, The Service Board, Big Sky Youth Empowerment and Share Winter.

Seirus is new to developing clothing products with sizing starting with the new Base Layer products. There are some glove offering sizes up to 3X, but most gloves and clothing products go up to XL or XXL. Now that Seirus is expanding into clothing products, they are working toward creating comfortable fits for everyone and offering extended sizes in the future.
